Being an educator at Green Bird Family Day Care is a rewarding role that extends beyond simply caring for children. To assist you in determining if this career path is right for you, consider whether you possess or are willing to develop the following:

Qualifications:

• A Certificate III in Children’s Services or higher,
• First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis certification,

Background Checks:

• Police Check,
• Working with Children Check,

 Environment & Paperwork:

• Public Liability Insurance
• Adequate equipment
• Health and safety - regulations and standards ensure that your home and garden are hygienic and safe for the children
• A commitment to creating inclusive environments that cater to various abilities,
• The skill to set up stimulating learning environments for children,
• Proficiency in documenting children’s learning through various mediums,

Skills:

• An understanding of the relevant regulations and frameworks,
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal,
• The ability to build rapport with diverse families,
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to multitask,
• A commitment to ongoing professional development,
• The ability to manage a small business, including meeting legislative and taxation requirements,
